Background

Our vision is to create an inspiring place for people to work and achieve their full potential whilst delivering the University’s ambitions.

Rated by over 77% of our staff as a ‘good place to work’ and accredited as an Investors in People organisation, we are delivering our People Strategy as part of the University 2015-2020 Strategic Framework to provide an excellent employee and student experience, aspiring to be an employer of choice for both our current and future staff.

HR&OD are at an exciting point of implementing our new HR self-service management system this year, and the development and implementation of the e-recruitment module is scheduled for early next year.

The Role Supporting a portfolio of departments, you will ensure that our recruitment needs are met swiftly, efficiently and cost-effectively by overseeing processes but also driving best practice. You will provide professional guidance at every stage of recruitment and on boarding and in particular, you will be advising on campaign timelines, advertising, and guiding managers on the University’s protocols and processes. Co-ordinating a number of campaigns at the same time, you will ensure that each stage is delivered to a high quality from job description and advert development to inputting a new starter on our integrated HR and payroll system. Where required, you will take part in assessing candidates at interview and selection events and contribute to final decision-making. In addition, you will look to develop the service further to increase effectiveness and efficiency, working with the wider team to identify and put forward suggestions on improvements that could be made.Requirements Working as part of a team will be important to you, and you will enjoy both managing your own workloads and working with other team members to ensure the broader workloads are covered effectively. Very organised and methodical, you will bring solid experience of administration and, ideally, a broad experience of recruiting for positions at every level, backed by highly developed interpersonal and IT skills. Exposure to an e-recruitment and HR system would be extremely useful, as would broad knowledge of employment law, UKVI legislation, immigration issues and recruitment best practice. It is essential that you can demonstrate the skills to prioritise a conflicting workload to meet strict deadlines and deliver exceptional service to both candidates and internal customers.Additional Information
