Detail information about job Career Development Fellow. Terms and conditions vacancy

The MRC Biostatistics Unit is a leading centre of innovative biostatistics research. An opportunity has arisen for a talented biostatistician to work with Dr Jessica Barrett on statistical methodology for modelling cardiovascular (CVD) risk factors. The project will involve modelling repeated measurements of multiple cardiovascular risk factors. Methodology will be developed to address clinical questions, such as the association of blood pressure variability with CVD, the impact of informative observation of repeated measurements on CVD risk prediction models and the timing of risk factor measurements.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in statistics and experience of statistical methods for the analysis of longitudinal data and survival data and the use of statistical software such as R or Stata. Knowledge of joint modelling of longitudinal and survival data and/or landmarking for dynamic risk prediction would be desirable. Willingness to collaborate with others and an open-minded approach to problem solving are essential.
