Library and Learning Resources are seeking to appoint two full time (37 hours) Library Advisors to work within the Customer Services team to provide a high quality customer focused service to staff and students at the University.
Having recently been reaccredited with the National Customer Services Excellence Award, we are seeking to build on our current provision to offer an exceptional front facing service.
You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer care, at the point of need for all library customers. As well as staffing the help desks, you will act as the first point of contact for all enquiries within the library spaces. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven experience in the delivery of high quality customer service (library experience desirable but not essential) and a commitment to customer care which not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.
You will:
- Be proactive in welcoming all library customers; identifying their individual needs, providing a quality service and enabling customers to make full use of the facilities available.
- Interact with customers throughout their visit, and assist them with the use of self-service equipment and discovery tools.
- Assist in maintaining a conducive learning environment through monitoring the use of the library and ensuring the shelves and spaces are kept tidy.
- Provide and help organise an efficient library service under the direction of the Library Supervisor, ensuring that agreed standards of service are (as a minimum) met.
Library and Learning Resources provides services at several University campus locations across the city and across extended hours. A variety of shift patterns will be applicable and the ability to undertake duties at different campus library locations will be required.
In order to be considered for the role, you must attach a CV and Cover Letter. It is advised that candidates remove personal details from their CV, including your name. Your CV must evidence how you meet the requirements of the post, with particular reference to the personal specification.
