Together our staff and students are discovering innovative ways to change the world for the better and there has never been a more exciting time for you to join us. We are ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide and have an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We are led by discovery and innovation, with the synergy between research and learning at the core of our activity.
We are looking to recruit an experienced postdoctoral researcher to take a leading role in the NMR investigation of post-translational modifications of the oncogenic Sam68 splicing factor. We have recently solved the structure of Sam68 in complex with RNA (Feracci et al, Nat Commun, 2016) and this BBSRC-funded project aims at investigating structurally and functionally the effect of post-translational modifications on Sam68 functions. You will develop your own independent research and provide guidance to other members of the team. You will write up research findings for dissemination among industrial collaborators and the broader international community and presents results at scientific meetings in the UK and overseas.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a related subject with a good knowledge of NMR methodology and applications and experience of protein expression, purification and biochemistry. You will have excellent organisational skills to plan and coordinate the direction of the research.
