Detail information about job Research Fellow in Inflammation and Cardiovascular Disease. Terms and conditions vacancy

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in inflammation research? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

You will join a Heart Research UK funded project that will examine the role of platelet-driven inflammation in subjects with cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular orientated research focusses on the links between metabolism, inflammation and atherothrombotic disease. You will work in the research group of Professor Khalid Naseem which is carrying out research into the identification of novel biochemical and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the regulation of blood platelet activity and thrombosis. A range of techniques will be used in this project including the isolation of blood platelets, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation, qRT-PCR, super resolution microscopy and multiplexed flow cytometry.

You will have a first degree and PhD (or close to completion) in biochemistry, immunology or a closely allied discipline and a strong background in the use of flow cytometry for the analysis of blood cells.
