We are looking for an excellent sessional lecturer to join our teaching team to deliver engaging, informative and interactive classes for the course Communicating Science: the public and the media. The course is taught over 20 weeks in two-hour sessions (4 to 6 pm) on Mondays starting on 9 October 2017 to 11 December in the autumn term and again in the spring term from 15 January to 19 March 2018 (dates cannot be changed). An indicative course syllabus can be found here. Subject to successful completion of probation and continued good student recruitment for this course, this teaching may be offered on an annual basis.
You will hold at least a Master’s degree in science communication, with previous experience of teaching and assessment at university level. Evidence of curriculum development will be an advantage. Experience of the Blackboard virtual learning environment is preferred.
In addition to specified teaching hours, you will be expected to attend training and at least two teaching meetings per term, as well as to comply promptly with quality assessment processes.
