The RoleKTP is important to Kingston University. We are seeking a proactive experienced KTP professional to drive this area forward and build our portfolio in this area of historic strength. You will be responsible for all aspects of KTP support, building awareness and driving engagement, supporting bids, drafting business cases and managing the post award team. Our recently restructured team spans the breadth of basic and advanced research through to commercialisation, knowledge exchange, impact and incorporation into our short courses. The stimulating interactive environment is based around cross-working and mutual support. You will work closely with the Innovation Relationship Manager and our Business Engagement Managers and Research Development Managers will help to identify partners. The role is for 2 years at first, intended to be made permanent if sufficient portfolio progress is sustained.

The PersonThe successful candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced KT professional, able to meld quickly into a team but to self-direct on a day-to-day basis. You will have a track record of success in a comparable role, and experience in dealing with academics, businesses and of writing business cases to an academic brief. Communications and interpersonal skills will be a key area of strength, as will a high degree of numeracy and financial literacy. You will have good analytical and practical problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail and strong organizational, project management and prioritisation skills. A subject specific background matching with one of our key areas of strength would be ideal, but you will be able to support and communicate with all disciplines and backgrounds.

DirectorateResearch, Business and Innovation have recently been brought together from the Business & Enterprise Centre and the Research and Innovation Support Office to form a single unit. It supports all activities from research through knowledge exchange, consultancy, business engagement, and commercialisation, on to dissemination via integration into our commercial short course provision, including executive education, residential programmes and international summer schools. This is an exciting time to join a new and dynamic team.
