Detail information about job Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Role of PARPs in DNA Repair and Genome Stability. Terms and conditions vacancy
We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the research group of Nick Lakin at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford. Our lab aims to understand the molecular basis of DNA repair, with specific reference to how PARPs regulate this process. The Research Associate will join a multi-disciplinary team to work on a project to define how multiple PARPs regulate DNA repair outcomes to maintain genome stability in human cells. We collaborate with academic colleagues internal and external to Oxford, in addition to industrial partners.
Applicants will have, or be in the process of completing a PhD relevant to molecular and cellular biology. You should have a proven track record in mammalian cell culture and gene manipulation strategies such as gene knockdown and/or genome editing. You should also be able to demonstrate previous laboratory experience in core molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as protein manipulation and expression in mammalian cells, and cell biology techniques such as fluorescence microscopy. We expect the Research Associate to possess strong communication skills, including the ability to write publications and present data to the scientific community. You should also have an enthusiasm for working in a laboratory environment and a pro-active determination to drive forward an important research project.
