Grade 8: £39,992 - £43,685 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)
We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist who will join a small multi-disciplinary team in Oxford that is collaborating with a team within the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme conducting a set of linked projects aiming to evaluate what gaps exist in the delivery of facility-based care to sick newborns in Nairobi City County and how these gaps might be addressed by task-shifting.
As the postdoctoral scientist, you will be educated to PhD level specifically in organisational research, human resources for health research, economics or health services/systems research with clear evidence of skills in qualitative research methods. You will show evidence of postdoctoral research experience and possess skills in exploring complex health systems challenges. As the postdoctoral scientist, you will have a strong publication track record in peer reviewed journals and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research projects and methodologies. Evidence of mixed methods research experience or skills in realistic evaluation would be an advantage.
This post is available on a full-time basis, but part-time hours (50% or more) may be considered. The post is fixed-term for 24 months in the first instance.
If no suitable applicants are identified on Grade 8 an appointment on Grade 7 (£31,604 - £38,833 p.a) with an appropriate adjustment in the duties may be considered.
