The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including doctoral level studies. Our provision at Cambridge includes registered nurse full time undergraduate and part time apprenticeship, assistant practitioner (FdSc) higher apprenticeship, associate and MSc nursing. We also offer post registration/CPD courses and modules, including advanced nurse practitioner and non-medical prescribing. Our dynamic approach ensures that our students receive a high quality, research-informed, educational experience. Internationally, we have excellent research in social work and social policy, and have a number of world-leading nursing and healthcare researchers in our Faculty.
Our Faculty constantly pursues innovative approaches to develop and deliver curricula to meet the ever changing educational needs of the Health and Social Care workforce. We’re seeking a committed and experienced practitioner to enhance the Advanced Clinical Practitioner teaching, incorporating Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills, Assessment of Minor illness and Advanced Non-Medical Prescribing. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to developing innovation in clinical skills teaching and learning, and will be particularly interested in developing technology enhanced simulated clinical skills.
With a degree and professional registered qualification as an Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner, your skill set will encompass: comprehensive physical examination of all body systems, history taking, consultation, making differential diagnosis, applied pharmacology and evidence based prescribing. If you do not have a PhD or Professional Doctorate you’ll be required to register to undertake one within 18 months of commencing employment.
You’ll have excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication, leadership and consultancy skills. We’ll support you to work within practice to ensure your clinical skills remain current, whilst applicants without previous teaching experience will be expected to work towards gaining a postgraduate teaching qualification.
