About the role 

Level A

The research project will involve developing next generation Click Chemistry in collaboration with a number of scientists in Australasia, USA, Europe and Asia. The researcher will contribute to the work of the laboratory, conducting and publishing high quality and high impact research with limited supervision. They may be required to assist in the supervision of research students and participate in professional activities including presenting at conferences and seminars. They will help support day-to-day operations of the laboratory and may also undertake some teaching related activities for undergraduate students. 

Level B

The level B role will involve many of the same tasks as the level A role, but these will be undertaken with a higher level of independence , contribution and leadership. In addition, the researcher will be required to supervise postgraduate students and to prepare research proposal submissions for external funding sources. They may also be required to design, coordinate and teach subjects to undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students. 

Skills & Experience 

Level A

To be considered for this role you will have completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry. Experience in synthetic chemistry research and evaluation is essential. You will have a record of significant contributions to publications and have experience with the generation, analysis and modelling of data. You will also possess strong communication and personal management skills. 

Level B

The level B role will have the skills, experience and qualifications listed for the level A position,  coupled with advanced postdoctoral research experience, strong analytical, and organisational skills are also essential. You will also be capable of liaising with a range of collaborators and industry partners both nationally and internationally.
