The School of Chemistry at the University of St Andrews aims to appoint a Solution State NMR Technician from 1st November 2017 to assist the Senior Scientific Officer in the daily provision and management of the NMR service in the School.
St Andrews School of Chemistry is a dynamic teaching and research environment with ~38 Academic staff, ~140 PhD students and 80 PDRAs.
The solution state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility/service at St Andrews is a central analytical tool of the School. The NMR suite consists of six instruments operating mostly in automated open access regime at frequencies of 700MHz (cryo), 2 x 500MHz (1 x cryo), 2 x 400MHz and a 300MHz. The NMR service is led by a Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) Dr T. Lebl.
Interested applicants should already have a theory knowledge of NMR to undergraduate degree level (e.g. BSc/MChem/MSci) in Chemistry or a closely allied subject. The successful applicant will be line managed by the Senior Scientific Officer.
