The Faculty of Science and Technology seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and broadly-trained Demonstrator to primarily support the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences in education, research and professional practice. 

This is a fixed term appointment for one year. 

The post will support teaching and research in the department, including demonstrating and support for BSc Biological Sciences, BSc Ecology and Wildlife Conservation, BSc Environmental Sciences, BSc Geography, BSc Marine Ecology and Conservation, and MSc Biodiversity Conservation. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant biological/environmental subject, and will preferably have experience of working within a university.

The ideal candidate would bring expertise in, and/or enthusiasm and ability to learn, a broad range of laboratory and field-based subjects, including: cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microscopy (including staining techniques), plant/animal identification, environmental field-based surveying, and environmental biology. Experience of working in both laboratories and the field is important. A positive and engaging approach with students, a willingness to learn, and knowledge of appropriate health and safety issues and procedures, are also key.
