The Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, wishes to appoint an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational skills as the Administrator for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Industrially Focused Mathematical Modelling (InFoMM). This is a full-time fixed-term position, tenable until 30 September 2019. The post is available for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will be the first port of call for students and academic staff involved with the CDT and will be responsible for developing and maintaining the CDT’s administration. They will also organise CDT training, admissions, and events (for example, the CDT annual meeting) and manage and update the CDT’s website. A key part of the role will be to provide financial advice and guidance to the Directors and to produce management reports on expenditure. The post holder will work closely with the CDT’s Industry Facilitator to ensure that InFoMM’s industrial partners (currently 60) are kept well engaged. The successful candidate will also line manage two departmental research support staff working for other projects.
With a good first degree (or equivalent), the successful candidate will be expected to have excellent organisation skills and experience of running events, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fantastic attention to detail, experience of administration, preferably in a Higher Educational Institution or complex organisation, experience of financial management of projects, proven IT skills and the ability to work using their own initiative and as part of a team. Previous line management experience is desirable.
