An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader (Assessment) to join the Centre for Medical Education within the Assessment Team; the post holder will provide administrative support to the Assessment and Data Unit Manager for the programme of assessment linked to the undergraduate medical degree programme. This will include all assessments and will ensure that each assessment activity in the School is managed in line with University and external regulatory body requirements.

This post will involve liaising with key contacts such as the Assessment Director, Programme Directors and senior management involved in assessment across the School and University. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of assessment related activity and communication with tutors and students. The post holder will work as part of a team and will be responsible for the administration of various aspects of the delivery of the assessments programme. The duties include the administration of examining boards; (including entering marks onto SIMS and running board reports), student enquiries, assessment planning, producing standard documents, room booking, timetabling examinations, providing support for meetings such as minute taking and collating papers, the management of a small team, training of colleagues and liaison with other key teams within the Centre for Medical Education.

Supervision of 2 Assessment Officers and an Administrative Assistant will also be an aspect of this role.

You should possess good IT skills (across all MS Office packages) and have specialist knowledge of appropriate administrative systems and processes, have experience of managing a team including dealing with performance and welfare issues, be organised, possess very good written and oral communication skills, and be able to coordinate effective team working as well as working on your own initiative.  You should also have the ability to solve problems using initiative and creativity; identifying and proposing practical solutions and resolving problems with a range of potential outcomes.

Attention to detail and accuracy are important in this role. 

This post is full time (35 hours per week), available from 1st August 2017 and is open-ended.
