Location: Teagasc, Head Office, Oak Park, Carlow.
Grade/Salary: Administration Grade 4, with a starting salary of €42,473. The current salary scale is €42,473 to €59,294.
Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc).
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.

Basic Function:
The successful candidate will have an organisation-wide responsibility for developing and maintaining Teagasc’s ICT security policies, promoting awareness of good practices, making recommendations for improvements in line with best industry practice and overseeing ICT security operations. He/she will audit Teagasc’s application systems, security and infrastructural security arrangements and will also develop, test and maintain Teagasc’s ICT Continuity Plan. Please note that this position requires occasional attendance outside normal working hours and some travel between Teagasc offices.
Person Specification
Note: The ‘Essential’ qualifications, skills and knowledge outlined below are ‘must-have’ which will be used in the shortlisting process.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 8 Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant degree.
- CISSP, MCSE, CNNA or other relevant qualifications
And / Or
- Over 2 years’ ICT security experience in a similar role.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience in ISO27000 and/or 22300 Standards
