The CRUK Cambridge Centre is seeking to recruit a Graduate Training Programme Co-ordinator to lead and oversee the administration of the Centre's Graduate Training Programme. 

This is an exciting opportunity and the person appointed to the role will be central to setting up the new MRes/PhD course, and ensuring the day-to-day management and smooth running of the training programme. In addition, the role holder will line manage the Senior Clerk (to be appointed).

The role holder will work closely with the Training Director, Co-Director, the Clinical Academic Training Lead, the Committee for Education and Training, the Centre's Grants and Finance Manager, as well as other academic and administrative members of the Cancer Centre and associated organisations. They will also work closely with the Clinical School Graduate Education Office.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline and may be an experienced administrator, preferably in a Higher Education context, or else may have a strong interest in researcher development and possibly some post-doctoral experience. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of a PhD programme and the associated admissions issues. 

In addition, they will have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to present strategic ideas and policies, or explain complex information. They will also be able to work independently and flexibly, and will have the ability to rapidly assimilate new information and knowledge and to meet challenging deadlines.
