This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with skills and experience in medical statistics to develop and trial new statistical methods to inform public health messages and vaccination programmes. The post offers an opportunity to work across and synthesise different types of rich medical data, including serological surveys, questionnaire and routinely collected maternity and primary care data. The post holder is expected to work closely with colleagues in different disciplines, including statistics, epidemiology, respiratory medicine and virology to analyse and interpret the data.
To start 1st October 2017, this post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.
PhD (or about to submit a PhD) in medical statistics, or other discipline with strong statistical component eg. demography or epidemiology (or equivalent experience). Research experience of analysis of complex data sets using standard software packages (e.g. Stata or R). Experience with multilevel/random effects models, of writing papers for peer-reviewed journals and dealing with missing data (eg. using multiple imputation).
