Salary:

Research Assistant: £26,829 - £27,629 per annum

Research Associate: £29,301 - £33,943 per annum

Applications are invited to join a research programme focussing on development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of brain cancers, funded by The Brain Cancer Charity. You will be based in the Northern Institute for Cancer Research (NICR) and Institute of Cellular Medicine (ICM), under the supervision of Dr Jason Gill (NICR) and Dr Jonathan Harburn (ICM).

You will focus specifically on chemical synthesis and pharmacological characterisation of a novel tumour-selective therapy as a post-operative approach for the treatment of aggressive brain cancers.  You will possess a Masters level qualification and PhD in cancer pharmacology, medicinal chemistry or drug development for appointment at Associate level, and a keen interest to develop your research skills in these areas.  You will have the ability to work independently and play a leading role in the research project as well as possessing strong communication skills.

This position is tenable from 1st October 2017 for a period of 12 months.
