The College of Medical and Dental Sciences has over 4,400 students and with the increase in national medical student numbers makes us one of the largest Medical Schools in the Country.
The College is seeking a Director of Education who will have a senior role as a member of the College Board. The Director will provide leadership, oversight and direction for all learning and teaching activity. The Director of Education is responsible for the sustainable development of all UG and PG teaching activity and ensuring College learning and teaching targets are both realistic and challenging and deliver a distinctive, high quality student experience.
The Director will be responsible for ensuring the College develops and delivers an effective Education Strategy in support of the University's Strategic Framework that delivers against institutional expectations for teaching related core business and growth and enhancing our reputation as an engaged University and establishing the University as a destination of choice.
Applications are invited to take on this important College leadership role for three years in the first instance. Applications are welcome from either clinicians or scientists, ideally you will have a PhD, fellowship of the HEA, and an outstanding track record of personal achievement and innovation in learning and teaching in an HE environment. You will be expected to understand the current direction of funding for courses related to healthcare including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing and how these programmes are delivered together with NHS partners.
