Detail information about job Social Media and Digitial Communications Officer. Terms and conditions vacancy

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative self-starter with a true passion for digital and social media. DMU's social media offering is currently the best in sector - we're ranked first out of 195 higher education institutions for our social performance. We want to not only continue to be No.1, but also to challenge the best out-of-sector social media and digital operations.

As the Social Media Officer, you will be at the heart of DMU's digital operation. The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with staff and students across the university to produce quality content across all of DMU's social media platforms and communications channels in support of the directorate's strategy and in-year delivery plans.

You will be expected to monitor, respond to, and generate content for the university’s corporate social media accounts as well as help to develop new platforms and tactics in order to continue to grow DMU's digital audience. You will be able to demonstrate the impact and added value of this activity with regular reporting to senior management across the university.

As well as creating digital content as required across all platforms, you will also be required to help create, source/commission, edit and supervise copy, photographic, video and infographic content as required to support corporate communications needs.

Extensive experience of using social media - including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and live-streaming - in a professional context is an essential criteria for this post as well as a proven ability to generate high-quality, social media and web content to deadline in order to meet corporate objectives. Video editing and Photoshop skills will play a key part in helping the successful candidate produce social media content which engages the audience and keeps DMU's social and digital operation ahead of the rest.
