Aalto University (Espoo, Finland) Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a full-time doctoral candidate position. The scope of the position is in electro-hydraulic control and modelling. Please see more information about the Department of Mechanical Engineering http://mecheng.aalto.fi/en/   

The candidate is expected to be familiar with modelling of mechatronic systems including mechanical and electrical and/or mechanical and hydraulic. The candidate will be employed in IZIF project focusing on the implementation of zonal electro-hydraulics in off-road mobile machines and stationary industrial applications.

Control aspects, modelling, building test setups and doing the instrumentations as well as performing measurements for electro-hydraulic systems are considered in the research.

Good command of Matlab and related tools is required (for instance LabVIEW, etc).

A successful applicant should have experience and strong motivation on working with modelling, simulation of mechatronic systems. The doctoral candidate is expected to allocate a part of her/his time on teaching, writing journal articles, and assisting in guidance of master students.

This position is offered for four years starting in autumn 2017, but a contract is at first made for one year (funding is guaranteed for 1 year). The doctoral candidate will receive a salary determined according to the regulations of Aalto University. Applicants close to completion of their master thesis will also be considered.
