The Faculty of Health and Society is seeking to appoint a self-motivated Lecturer with a social science background to contribute to the delivery, assessment, evaluation, curriculum development and associated administration of undergraduate programmes including BA (Hons) Sport Development and Physical Education and BA (Hons) Sports Studies in the Subject Group of Sport, Exercise and Life Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team of social science, exercise science and sport psychology educators who are committed to raising standards in the study of sport. We welcome applications from people with expertise in the area of sport development in the UK that is drawn from a social science perspective. You will have a track record of undergraduate teaching in a Higher Education institute in this subject area and experience of facilitating technology enhanced learning. You will contribute to teaching in sport development at undergraduate levels and also be involved in the work based learning elements of the programme. Therefore, experience in managing student work placements and an ability to develop strong links with local sport organisations is desirable; a passion for fostering student employability is crucial. This post will expect you to demonstrate both excellent communication and organisational skills, and you should have a genuine commitment to continually improving the student experience.

You will have a minimum of a good honours degree or equivalent and at least a Master’s degree in a subject related area. Doctoral degrees are desirable; however, the willingness to formulate and undertake research, enterprise or consultancy in a subject related to the role is essential. The successful candidate for this post will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) Check.
