We are looking to appoint an Environmental Specialist to support the management of the University's environmental management system. This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent position, however applications will also be considered from those wishing to work between 30 and 37 hours per week.
You will:
- lead on Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) auditing and certification process
- draft, deliver and manage a number of strategies and related action plans, including those for water, waste and biodiversity
- serve as key adviser on environmental legislation
- recruit, train and supervise volunteers as required to deliver events, support audits and promote environmental campaigns.
You should have:
- a degree in environmental management or other relevant subject
- knowledge of relevant legislation
- significant experience in managing overall process for ISO 14001(EMS) certification
- the ability to apply strategic thinking to solving problems regarding overall environmental management.
