Life Course Epidemiology and Population Oral Health Group (LEPOH), Bristol Dental School, University of Bristol.
This is an ideal career opportunity for an enthusiastic applied statistician with an interest in health sciences to join a research-intensive University and gain experience of working on a range of projects across all stages of the research process.
The successful applicant will be appointed as a Research Associate in Statistics and will be part of the LEPOH group, based within the Biomedical Research Centre (Nutrition Theme) in the School of Oral and Dental Sciences. Members of LEPOH undertake multidisciplinary research in several areas including life course determinants of health, facial disfigurement, nutrition and head and neck cancer; the group is led by Professor Andy Ness.
The post holder will play an important role in developing the cleft data resources (http://www.uhbristol.nhs.uk/research-innovation/our-research/bristol-nutrition-bru/studies/cleft-care-uk/), and will contribute to the design, analysis and reporting of studies using these resources as a co-author. There will be opportunities to become involved in other projects run by LEPOH members such as the YoungGrowth project https://www.fhi.no/en/projects/younggrowth/), and you will be encouraged and supported to develop your research interests and career. There are also plenty of opportunities to develop your teaching skills and practice within the Dental school and across the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Should you wish to discuss the post informally, please contact Dr Andrew Wills, telephone 0117 342 3264 or e-mail [email protected].
