The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified full-time Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology. This position will contribute to our undergraduate teaching as well as our graduate training programme in Clinical Psychology. The School of Psychology has an established reputation as a leader in teaching and research in areas of applied psychology and offers a broad undergraduate education in psychology, with a range of specialised programmes at graduate level, including programmes which lead to registration as a psychologist.

Applications are invited from individuals with expertise in and passion for research and teaching in Clinical Psychology. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a productive research programme, teaching clinically-related undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervising postgraduate student research, and contributing to the administration of the clinical programme. Requirements include a research-based PhD in psychology, clinical training and experience with eligibility for registration as a clinical psychologist in New Zealand, experience in undergraduate teaching and graduate supervision, and a strong record of research publications.

The Clinical Psychology programme is based on a scientist-practitioner model and has a commitment to bicultural development and to meeting diverse community needs, in accord with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. The programme has strong links with community service providers in many areas, including developmental and acquired disability, forensics and criminal conduct, child protection and family relationships, child and adult mental health and physical health.

The salary range for Senior Lecturers is NZ$90,000 to $118,500 and for Associate Professors NZ$120,000 to $132,500 per year.
