BackgroundThe Finance Department of the University is arranged into a number of functional teams. The Accounts Payable team is responsible for administering the supplier invoices and payments and making payments to students. The team have oversight of the Accounts Payable ledger within the financial database, Agresso. The Role

The main purpose of this role is to support the systems development of the Accounts Payable ledger and to help develop improvements to processes and ways of working within the team and the wider University. The role will also oversee the work of the team, answering queries, inputting information into the system and making payments.Requirements

You will have previous experience of team leading in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger team, preferably in the education sector or a large public sector body. You will be used to dealing with enquiries from team members and from external suppliers and helping resolve queries that arise. You will be confident in the use of Excel and financial databases. You will have an understanding of the business processes used to administer invoices, orders and payments to suppliers, both manual and electronic, and experience of reviewing these to look for efficiency gains.You will have good interpersonal skills, including a positive and supportive leadership ethos and a commitment to seeing change through to completion.
