Based within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Peninsula Arts is the wide-ranging public arts programme for University of Plymouth. Offering a gateway to the latest ground breaking ideas and innovation within the Arts and Humanities, Peninsula Arts plays a pivotal role in building art and culture in the city and South West region.

We host the largest contemporary art gallery in Plymouth; a diverse range of classic films and contemporary cinematic masterpieces screened in the Jill Craigie Cinema; a cutting edge theatre and dance programme in The House; musical performances and concerts and a year-long series of fascinating talks that open up the world of culture.

Our approach is based around collaboration with a wide range of partners, most notably through our strategic partnership with The Box, Plymouth, part of Plymouth Museums Galleries Archives.

We are seeking a Music Director to lead the curation, delivery and development of a high quality, relevant and accessible music programme, providing music knowledge and expertise across contemporary, classical and traditional forms to support the strategic direction of Peninsula Arts and the wider University agenda.

The position requires experience of organising and delivering a high quality and diverse public music programme, including: fund raising, festival and project management, mentoring and supporting emerging and established creative talent. You will be able to demonstrate a relevant music functional/professional qualification.

Working to the Director of Peninsula Arts and with wider academic teams and partners you will be expected to build strong relationships and networks to enhance Peninsula Arts reputation within local, national and international networks, including developing relationships and partnerships with schools and communities across the South West, alongside developing opportunities for the student and staff body to engage with and contribute to the music programme.
