FET Technical Services are seeking a Geosciences and Civil Engineering Technician for permanent appointment.  You will provide technical demonstration and instruction to students in Geosciences and Civil Engineering labs.  The role primarily supports undergraduate students in the use of analytical laboratory equipment, making and processing samples for teaching and research.

The role requires experience of working in Geoscience or Civil Engineering laboratories, instructing and supporting students, maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment.  Ideally you will have experience of working in a technical environment in Higher Education and/or have broad based commercial or industrial experience working in a relevant environment.

You must be able to communicate clearly and manage your own time well in a busy environment.  You should have an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative approach to the learning environment and you should be IT literate.  You must be aware of the Health and Safety requirements associated with supporting users in a laboratory environment.  A degree, technical qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline will be required.
