About the role

With a focus on the GSM London student experience and supporting students who have different levels of preparedness for further and higher level study, we have remodelled our advisory, wellbeing and engagement teams so that all student facing services work together to provide high levels of services and support. These teams work with other professional services teams and students themselves with an intention to continuously improve and evolve the services available through the Student Hubs at our Greenwich and Greenford campuses.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join GSM London as a Disability Advisor. The post holder will also act as a point of contact for members of staff within the institution regarding good practice for teaching and service provision concerning disabled students. Review and development of relevant policy and procedures is an ongoing responsibility of the post to ensure that GSM London meets the needs of students and is an accessible environment in which to study.  The Advisor will maintain current legislative and regulatory knowledge and provide advice to staff, students and the College.

We have invested in an expansion of the Wellbeing team are seeking new members to support students with a range of learning, mental health needs and disabilities.  The team needs an additional Disability Advisor to join the team and meet the needs of our diverse student body. To be successful you will be degree qualified or be able to demonstrate your experience in a Further/Higher Education or similar support setting. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the Equality Act (2012), disabled students’ funding and accessible learning methods.
