  • High Level Financial Accounting Focus
  • Diverse Responsibilities & Development Opportunities

Smart Parking (SPT) listed on the Australian Securities Exchange is a fast-growing technology business that specialises in parking management.  It employs around 200 staff based in NZ and the UK, supporting a wide range of international customers. With a suite of products, including sensors, sign guidance, car counting, automatic number plate recognition, and comprehensive back office management and statistics with web-based reporting, SPT is a world leader in this market.

This key role, which is based in Auckland, will report to and work closely with the Group CFO in the provision of high level financial accounting support. Primary areas of responsibility will include the preparation of monthly accounts and reports, statutory reporting and returns (PAYE, GST, and FBT), cashflow management, GL reconciliations, customer billing, debtor management, and payroll. There will be additional responsibilities, which will include business process improvement projects and analysis of business performance. It will be a hands-on delivery role, as well as an active contributor to business planning and you will support management decision making.

You will need to have at least three to five years practical experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within a commercial environment, and have proven problem solving skills, high attention to detail and excellent time management. A focus on producing high quality work, well developed planning and organising abilities and the capability to effectively manage competing deadlines are important attributes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is membership of CAANZ.  Computer literacy is a prerequisite, and experience with Exonet and Group Accounts is highly desirable.

This is a unique opportunity to join a leading-edge technology company with a strong team culture, and will suit an intermediate or senior accountant wanting to progress their career with a fast-moving business.
