I am currently working with prominent South Island wide construction client who are about to start a long term commercial project in Queenstown. They are actively seeking dynamic, experienced and motivated Leading hand Carpenters to lead a crew of tradesmen.
For the right person, they can provide accommodation, meal allowance and a market leading hourly rate. You will be based in the beautiful and bustling resort town of Queenstown for at least 12 months with a high chance of future work.
You will need to have at least 10 years’ experience in the trade with ideally four years in a leading hand position on a light commercial/ commercial building site. You will have a proven track record of success managing crews of tradesmen on a similar sized job. You will provide examples of where you have worked towards deadlines, carried out tasks such as ordering materials, liaising with developers and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and someone who knows how to motivate those around them.
The accommodation is based in central Queenstown and will be shared with the other leading hands and foremen, so it would be best suited to someone who is looking to relocate by themselves and set up in Queenstown. It is essential you are a New Zealand Qualified Carpenter and come from a commercial background and have your own tools.
You will need to provide two contactable references from senior level managers in previous employment.
