THE ROLE:

This is a dual role that combines payroll and tax administration responsibilities.
A background in payroll and/or tax administration is essential, however training will be provided to ensure full confidence across the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE:

Taxation support:

  • Taxation compliance work
  • Tax return preparation & checking
  • Taxation systems administration and reporting
  • Taxation administration and documentation as required

Payroll administration:

  • Processes wages for staff and client payrolls
  • Liaise with staff, clients and management
  • Provide documentation and reporting as required
  • Provide information to IRD

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will have a good level of experience in either payroll or tax administration and be willing to learn our client’s systems.

You will have the knowledge or ability to interpret NZ payroll and employment legislation and understand PAYE, the Holidays Act etc.

The candidate that we are looking for will be a good multi-tasker who can think outside the square. You will have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

You excel when working under pressure and eat deadlines for breakfast!

The candidate that we are looking for is highly flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the organisation, e.g. to provide cover for other team members.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to build strong client and team relationships
  • Have experience in using Ace Payroll, Xero Payroll and Smart Payroll (not essential)
  • Preferably have experience in taxation administration
  • Have a high level of accuracy and great time management skills
  • Professionalism, ethics and integrity are in your DNA
  • Be experienced in providing exceptional customer service
  • Be an outgoing person who is a good communicator
  • Have knowledge and experience of MS packages including Word and Excel to intermediate level

HOURS OF WORK:

This is a Monday to Friday role, the usual hours of work will be 8.30am-5.00pm (with 30 minutes for lunch).
