We are seeking a Plumber/Boilerperson to join our team looking after the Invercargill Prison in Invercargill.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out duties ensuring a high quality service is provided to the client
- Completing monthly owners inspections as per the planned preventative maintenance plan and check sheets provided
- Performing reactive maintenance work in line with your qualifications, training, skills, regulations and legislations where certification is not required and the work is within your abilities
- Daily maintenance of the site Coal Boilers which includes daily cleaning
- Ensure all plant rooms are labelled correctly and kept clean and tidy at all times
- Working with the Facilities Administrator to ensure all service calls, especially Priority 1 (Emergency), are delivered in line with the contractual time frames
- Performing work on emergency calls as directed by your Facilities Manager or Supervisor which will include assisting subcontractors to ensure all KPIs are met
- Escorting Subcontractors on site who are not familiar with site layout or who are not fully inducted
- Notifying Facilities Manager or Supervisor of any sub-standard workmanship that you notice on site
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed to a high standard and is handed in to your Facilities Administrator in a timely manner to assist with service calls being closed out to meet our KPIs
With such a challenging role, we require the following attributes:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- A sound understanding of OH&S and Facilities Management related regulations e.g. Codes of practice and Building Codes
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance practices and procedures
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
- Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of statutory obligations
- Experience working with coal boilers
- Technical expertise and trade qualifications in Plumbing and Boiler Maintenance
- Experience in the management of subcontractors
- Experience in coordinating and auditing of building maintenance activities
