In this role, no two days will be the same.Working as a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring an effective, preventative and reactive maintenance service is provided (the assets, buildings, furnishings and equipment). This position will ensure a quality service supports the operation in both independent living and the residential care facility.

This is a part-time permanent shift working 8 hours per week working 4 hours a day twice a week (there is flexibility with the roster).

Located in our lovely village at Selwyn St. Andrews, Cambridge (Waikato).

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Attending to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Coordinating property related projects and contractor movements and work
  • Maintenance of grounds and waste collections Assisting with relocations and the movement of furniture and equipment
  • Maintaining a schedule of reported/identified repair and maintenance work requests
  • Documenting and reporting any incidents or occurrences of damage
  • Ensuring monthly audits and compliance checks are completed
  • Other miscellaneous duties such as ensuring village vehicles are maintained, testing water temperatures in residential care facilities and duties as from time to time are necessary

With a personable and friendly approach you will be empathetic and have a passion to deliver the best possible service for the ageing person, who is central to everything we do. You will have basic handyman skills, possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and have strong ability to plan, make decisions and solve problems. You must also be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a full NZ Drivers License. A First Aid Certification is desirable.

As part of our service offering we provide Integrated Villages catering for Independent Living and Residential Care (Rest Home, Hospital and secure Dementia). Our Villages are home to over 1400 residents and a lively work environment for over 400 staff.
