THE COMPANY:

A privately-owned, specialist manufacturing company who supply to a multitude of industries throughout New Zealand as well as many parts of Australasia and with operation sites across these regions. THE ROLE:

The main purpose of this role is to provide financial reporting and management information to the New Zealand business, as well as maintaining business systems and internal controls in an efficient and reliable manner. You will be working very closely with many stakeholders within the business, in particular the CFO and senior Finance team in Australia and the General Manager and management team in New Zealand.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the New Zealand management team
  • Prepare and analyse value-adding information to support management decision-making and problem-solving, prepare and analyse financial and operational reports and variations in performance against standards and budgets, prepare financial forecasts
  • Manage and develop efficient management reporting processes that generate One Set of Numbers using a standardised format
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage company tax obligations in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Manage and co-ordinate the company’s insurance program and annual renewal in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Manage company cashflow in conjunction with Financial Controller and CFO- fixed deposits/dividends/loans
  • Be responsible for periodic physical stocktake of inventory and involved in clearance of identified slow-moving and obsolete inventory
  • Liaise with legal advisers on company matters in conjunction with CFO
  • Prepare capital expenditure requests and participate in post expenditure reviews
  • Undertake duties in accordance with the company’s fixed asset management system
  • Participate in the development of accounting policy and administer approved accounting procedures
  • Oversee internal control systems for effective minimisation of financial risk and reliable financial reporting
  • Co-operate with internal and external auditors in audits of accounting procedures and records, and address audit results accordingly
  • Assist IT Team in maintaining equipment/resolving issues at New Zealand Sites
  • Manage Company Vehicle Lease requirements
  • General Ledger Reconciliations, Bank Account Reconciliations, review Foreign Exchange
  • Review and approve weekly and monthly Payroll payments
  • Upload & Approve Payments and transfers as required for both NZ & Australia when required
  • Review and arrange for payments for Raw Material - prepayments and import documentary collection notices

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Has similar experience in prior roles and sound financial accounting knowledge

A CA qualification is preferred

Ideally has an industry background within a large, manufacturing-related FMCG environment (Food Company-related experience would be of particular advantage)

Is a confident systems user, with proven knowledge of SAP as well as the Microsoft Office Suite

Is competent in internal control management, financial analysis and report writing

Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoys building and maintaining internal relationships with colleagues
