Job tasks and responsibilities
Primary Objectives:
* Repair interiors and/or exteriors of trailer units or other vehicles as required.
* Manufacture and fit new truck hardware as required.
* Maintain a clean tidy and safe environment in the workshop and on site.
To complete tasks such as, but not limited to:
* Prepare and install sheet metal products such as; aluminium scuffbands, checkerplate floor sheets.
* Manufacture and fit steel and aluminium items such as; bumpers/steps/guards/door tapping plates/landing strips.
* Repair steel and aluminium items such as; bumpers/steps/guards/door tapping plates, poles, tiebacks/scuffbands/landing strips/load-locking systems/huck railing.
* Ensure projects are completed within set timeframes
* Remove and replace trailer flooring
* Fibreglass repairs (past experience with fibreglass is desirable but not necessary)
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will be;
* Physically capable/fit and healthy
* A fast and enthusiastic learner
* Able to demonstrate experience with a variety of tools and materials
* Interested in working with their hands
* Able to problem solve
* Able to transfer knowledge and skills to a variety of jobs
*Happy and able to do overtime
This job could suit an experienced carpenter, fibreglass repair person or engineer.
We are prepared to negotiate a higher pay-rate for someone with knowledge and experience specific to the fibreglass trailer repair industry.
