Electrix Limited is a high profile, long term leader in the Australasian electrical and gas contracting markets. Electrix Limited is also one of New Zealand's foremost electrical construction and maintenance companies and provides a wide range of services to the power, electricity, gas, industrial and commercial sectors.

We are seeking an electrical trade's service to Electrix, covering the full range of mechanical services expected of a qualified mechanical fitter.

Key responsibilities:

• Install basic transmission equipment and hardware as instructed by the supervisor or qualified trades staff
• Prepare the work site for installation and maintenance work to be performed
• Disestablish the work site and clearing tools and equipment and excess materials upon completion of work
• Assist with the set up of safety equipment prior to the commencement of work and removal of equipment upon completion
• Carry out standard housekeeping duties associated with the work site, e.g. cleaning and tidying of plant and equipment
• Carry out routine physical work associated with the installation and maintenance of transmission equipment to support the electrical work to be performed by a qualified tradesman, e.g. cable pulling and trench digging
• Ensure that work is carried out to required standards and plans, stopping work if unsafe or not to standard, reporting QSE issues that arise and managing risks in the workplace

Qualifications/training required: 

• Hands-on experience in commercial, industrial or high voltage electrical work to industry standards
• Farming and fencing line experience preferred
• Wheels, tracks, & rollers licence preferred
• Excavator training preferred
• A basic knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the work
• No trade qualification is required

This position is based in Manawatu. Attractive rates of pay are available commensurate with experience, together with an attractive superannuation (conditions apply) and company funded medical insurance.
