The Opportunity

Due to expansion, our team is looking for a Geophysicist with the ability to contribute across all geotechnical projects ensuring that geotechnical risks are monitored, understood and managed. 

 

Although the role is based in Hawkes Bay, travel goes with the territory as we also have sites in Wellington and the Philippines to meet the various locations of our clients and projects.  The willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally is essential.

 

What the Role Entails

  • Providing leadership for projects ensuring geophysical processing, analysis and assessments affecting engineering works are identified and provided for
  • Performing high quality geophysical investigations including positional control using dGPS and/or total stations, prepare geophysical data/modelling, including forward modelling and provide high quality analysis
  • Development of our geophysical equipment capability
  • Ensuring health and safety and risk management activities are undertaken and reviewed during projects

 

About You

Our ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant geophysics or geology degree preferably at Masters level
  • Extensive geophysical consulting experience gained with leading consultancies on a diverse range of products
  • Detailed knowledge of geotechnical hazard and risk assessments and their application
  • Expert in geophysical techniques – data acquisition processing and quality assessment
  • Team player with great communication skills
  • Wide range of maintenance and field repair experience of electronic geophysics equipment
  • Ability to work autonomously and accurately
  • Desire to be involved in a supportive and respectful professional journey
  • Self-driven
