Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products, outlining procedures and specifications
  • Understand key commercial requirements of the ingredient industry
  • Responsible for product development from initiation to launch conferring with the cross functional team where appropriate
  • Implement industry recognised methods and keep up to date on best practice requirements
  • Contribute to some and lead other presentations and record detailed feedback
  • Work on PIP (Profit Improvement Projects) opportunities for both Raw Material and Finished products
  • Interact and troubleshoot with customers on application concerns
  • Provide appropriate training and education to staff on production, application and technical issues
  • Ensure good laboratory practices and lab protocols are being met
  • Involve recording documentation and methodology into appropriate database
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, scientific meetings and short courses as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry or Food Science
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in similar food industry
  • Prior experience of working with a variety of product areas within Culinary and Savory Laboratory, pilot plant and factory experience
  • Experience in managing both internal and external relationships including Commercial/Sales team and Customers
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent Problem Solving & Analytical Skills
  • Process orientated and improvement focused
  • Excellent Communication skills
