Our client based in Auckland New Zealand, have developed novel and patented technology for cost effective and user friendly immunodiagnostic testing of a range of diseases. With an advanced multiplexed test platform giving rapid result turnaround, the company is in advanced commercialisation stage of existing platforms, whilst concomitantly expanding into other disease diagnostic panels, based on their proprietary technology. Under the leadership of an exceptional internationally renowned Chief Scientist, the company is embarking on a global expansion phase. With ongoing R & D and new products in pipeline, there is a requirement for an energetic and dynamic lab technician to provide R & D lab support to the scientists. Whilst company specific training will be provided, you need to be equipped with the necessary lab skills and technical background in protein purification along with a brilliant scientific mind.
Key to your success in this role will be in not only your ability to perform the routine tasks with utmost diligence but also your willingness to contribute and ‘pitch in’ with other tasks such as manufacturing and QC, when and where required. You will have great interpersonal skills where you are able to communicate effectively with people across all levels of the business.
Essential Skills, Competencies and Personal Attributes sought are:
- A tertiary qualification in Biomedical Science/Genetics or similar.
- ‘Hands on’ expertise in protein purification procedures and ELISA is essential. Experience with Microarrays, culturing and other related scientific techniques would be advantageous.
- Ideally you will have carried out research projects in disease diagnostics/biomarkers studies.
- A sound Lab Discipline and great housekeeping skills.
- A positive attitude and very strong work ethic where you have the flexibility to perform a multitude of responsibilities including Validation of procedures, R & D, Document control and Manufacturing assistance.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and the ability to use Excel or other research software for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a ‘Team Player’
- Great attention to detail with a positive and ‘can do’ attitude, where you have the willingness to learn and keep abreast of the latest technology.
