Our client is a speciality MDF manufacturer who focus on an extremely high-quality product, which exports to international and local markets. The company have a large focus on innovation, quality and sustainability and pride themselves in their ability to consistently produce individual pieces of high quality in a sustainable manner.

They are now looking for a Quality Technician to join their QA and Process team at their manufacturing plant in Gore, Southland. This position will involve using a variety of chemistry-based laboratory techniques to test for product quality, particularly in regards to formaldehyde emissions testing. This procedure is an essential component of the QA process and ensuring products meet compliance for ISO/export standards. Any skills you may have in R&D, which might add value or reduce materials/cost, could also be utilised in this position.

Our client is open to either an experienced person or a graduate coming on board in this role. Some of the potential skills you will need for the role are listed below:
  • BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar is essential
  • Manufacturing industry experience will be highly preferred
  • Experienced with ISO quality standards also preferred
  • Spectrophotometry experience
  • Experienced in a laboratory with basic chemistry techniques
  • Good communication
  • Ability to use a variety of Microsoft office suite products, Excel experience is essential, with an ability to perform statistical analysis and results dissemination
  • Ability to self-start and work unsupervised
