Production Technologist
BioCell Corporation is a New Zealand biotechnology company primarily focused on the development and manufacture of vaccines from viral and bacterial sources. The recent commissioning of two state-of-the-art sterile chemical manufacturing and biocontainment (PC level 2) facilities has opened up an exciting opportunity, to be part of this very reputable NZ company.

Working as a part of a closely knit production team, an ideal candidate will have a strong team spirit, an excellent work ethic, eagerness to learn new skills and get trained in new systems. This role will enable the right candidate to acquire knowledge in a wide range of biological and chemical manufacturing systems such as large-scale bacterial fermentation, viral vaccine production and sterile injection manufacture. The ability to work independently and be flexible to assist others when required is essential. When required, the candidate will assist in sterile filling, product assembly and packing, media and culture preparation and in the general upkeep of the facility. The position requires a person with a keen eye for detail and meticulous record keeping.
An Ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Biological Sciences, such as Microbiology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology.
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
- An aptitude to work systematically and carefully with all company equipment.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing would be advantageous.
