Waters & Farr Limited is part of the Hynds Group of companies, a family owned business that has been around for approximately 45 years. We have a friendly, supportive work culture and a reputation for the supply of quality plastic pipes to the Civil, Rural and Utilities markets.

We are currently looking for Quality Control Lab Technician based in Wanganui. Reporting to the Laboratory/Quality Manager, your main role is to test and check the quality of Waters & Farr products and provide testing services to customers, all to a high standard of quality and integrity.

Key responsibilities includes:

• To acquire and maintain manufactured product standards, equipment and corresponding procedures
• Implement and maintainlab policies and principles
• Select and prepare samples and perform test procedures
• Maintain clear and concise technical records of data, calculations and observations
• Keep test equipment in good working order, calibrate measuring tools, and maintain good house keeping
• Check compliance of manufactured products
• Offer suggestions on improvement of lab work and procedures

Qualifications/Personal attributes:

• Work experience as Lab Technician and/or Quality Control
• Good Microsoft Office skills in MS Word/MS Excel, general computer knowledge
• Knowledge of equipment
• Able to work autonomously
• Excellent attention to detail
• Full NZ Drivers Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Ideally possess mechanical aptitude
