Our client is a global chemical company manufacturing products for the retail and professional market. We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join their facility based in the Wellington region.  

Reporting to the Chief Chemist this is a hands-on testing role where a significant amount of your time will be involved in product testing using various analytical test methods. You will be responsible for equipment calibration and the investigation of non conformances and customer complaints. Being part of a small and highly cross functional team you will also get the opportunity to get involved with R&D projects.

This interesting role will give you exposure to many aspects of a chemical manufacturing business such as QC, new product development, manufacturing, technical support and sales.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, mature, smart and positive thinking candidate that wants to make a real difference and take on significant responsibilities.  You will also need to be self-motivated and possess good communication skills as you will work closely with the production and quality team.

Preferred candidates will have the following skills and attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry preferred
• Previous experience in a chemistry laboratory
• Working knowledge of ISO9000 preferred
• Able to work as part of a team
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
