We support New Zealand students working towards a university degree in Engineering & Science by providing Maurice Paykel scholarships each year. By supporting our next generation through both the access to a degree as well as on-the-job learning, we hope to impart our values of curiosity, innovation and responsibility.
The Scholarship consists of a cash award of $2,500 and paid summer vacation employment for a period determined by Fisher & Paykel Appliances but for a maximum of 12 weeks.
We're looking for Consumer & Applied Science (BCApSc) or (BSc) students majoring in Clothing & Textile Science or Consumer Food Science to assist with project work in our Product Evaluation Department over the summer break.
Our Product Evaluation team is responsible for the performance of all Laundry and Refrigeration Products and the relevant performance regulations. Our aim is to ensure Fisher & Paykel produces products that meet or exceed the expectations of the consumers.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand and enrolled full-time in a NZ Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Science or Bachelor of Science Degree in any one of Food Science, Clothing and Textile Sciences or Consumer Food Science.
- in their second to last (penultimate) year of study for their Bachelor's degree as the intent of the scholarship is to assist students as they enter their final academic year
- available to undertake paid summer vacation employment (minimum of 8 weeks) for FPA during the summer break following the award of the scholarship, but before the applicant's final year of study
