About the group
MSD’s Property and Facilities group provides safe, fit for purpose environments for our people. The Property Operations team is responsible for the Property Management of a nationwide portfolio of leased and owned commercial and residential properties. Property Management functions include lease management, portfolio planning, asset and facilities management, and workplace design.
About the role
In this role you will manage a regional portfolio of commercial and residential properties. You will be responsible for managing leases, capital assets, and property facilities. You will partner with our facilities management team and senior property managers to ensure sites and assets perform and support our customer’s services.
Key responsibilities include;
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with senior regional managers, site managers, landlords, contractors and various other stakeholders and property professionals.
- New lease negotiations, lease renewals and rent reviews that optimise the portfolio.
- Project management of commercial and residential capital projects including site relocations, refurbishments and reconfigurations.
- Day to day repairs and maintenance of property assets.
- Compliance with all property related legislation and regulations.
- Prepare business cases for senior management approval.
- Provide valuable input into strategic planning.
About you
As an experienced property professional you will hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on the management of the property portfolio. A natural people person with the ability to form effective win-win relationships you will build strong rapport with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. With solid negotiating skills you will have a naturally commercial lens with experience across property, asset and facilities management practices.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Effective, persuasive and diplomatic relationship management skills.
- 4-5 years commercial property management experience, preferably gained in large organisations with multi-building portfolios.
- Awareness of, or familiarity with government policies regarding office accommodation.
- Tertiary property qualification or the equivalent in work experience.
- Computer proficiency and a working knowledge of spread sheet packages including Excel.
- Experience in the development of feasibility studies and business cases.
- Excellent project management skills - able to establish course of action for self and others to accomplish a specific goal.
- A strong client focus – you give high priority to anticipating customer needs and ensuring client satisfaction.
- A friendly manner and willingness to work collaboratively with others to accomplish organisation goals.
