About the role:
Over the past five years Te Waka Ture (our Maori Legal Group), has developed a reputation for tackling some of the hardest commercial legal issues faced by iwi and Maori organisations. As a result Chapman Tripp has become the preferred advisor to many iwi, hapu , trusts and Maori businesses.
Te Waka Ture is looking for a corporate and commercial solicitor to join Chapman Tripp’s Auckland office. Strong Te Reo Maori language skills would be an advantage. You will have experience in a professional environment. We will consider law graduates with accountancy firm or other relevant experience. We expect that you have a strong academic background. You will work in an open, supportive and friendly environment, and be part of a highly experienced and diverse group.
This is an interesting and varied role. You will be managing files, client relationships and working with iwi, hapu and Maori businesses. As part of our leading national corporate team, you will also be involved in a wide range of projects acting for major corporates, private equity funds and other private sector clients.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
- 3-6 years PQE
- Top marks in your Law degree
- Strong Te Reo Maori language skills –desired
- Commercially astute and client focused
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Expereince working on complex transactions -desired
