It is quite rare for us to be recruiting for an in-house role on this level, but as the business is grows, they expect you to grow with them and add more layers of experience and responsibility.
They are a business brokerage and this role is the conduit for all the new listings, drafting of sale and purchase documents for each transaction, and associated internal and external compliance. Each transaction is unique and so you will be creating bespoke documents, albeit with the ADLS templates as a guide. Each party always has their own lawyers who will check and amend, but the aim of having in-house counsel is to reduce costs for their clients. It will also include process and compliance work, checking documentation etc. at each step in the process. There is also some other miscellaneous legal work as and when it comes up, e.g. fee recovery, and they do also use external counsel if necessary.
This is a fun environment and promises a good, competitive salary to the right person. At the moment this role is the sole counsel for the whole country working with 60-65 brokers and still growing.
