The firm is one of the key players in the Bay of Plenty legal market and has continued to expand through growth and merger in recent years. They are proud of their long history and a client base that reflects the parts of the New Zealand economy that make things, build things and grow things.
Their Commercial and Business law team is busy and also has a solicitor in the team who is soon going on secondment to one of their clients. Hence, they are in the market for lawyers with 1-3 years and 4-7 years’ experience in commercial and finance matters. The role will see you working alongside a Partner and Special Counsel. Both previously worked for leading local and international firms before they decided to bring their skills to the Bay of Plenty.
The Partner advises on commercial and finance matters representing financiers and businesses, both large and small. He has experience in a wide range of finance, corporate, restructuring and international trade transactions. In addition, he specialises in aviation and asset finance, focussing principally on financing, leasing, acquisitions, and sales but also advising in areas such as trade sanctions, disputes, and repossessions. The Special Counsel has extensive local and international experience in relation to banking and finance as well as corporate finance and M&A and has a particular specialisation in relation to the energy sector, having advised on power projects in New Zealand and around the world.
